CLEVER Web® v3.0

The Ultimate Business Service Management Resource
for Maximizing Web Site Performance

A. Butch DeGuzman from Applied Expert Systems (AES) is speaking at UKCMG on:
Wednesday 28th June at 11.30 - Session Code 3A3: Network Performance & Availability Reporting: Someone Has to Start It

Your Web sites are investments vital to the backbone of your business processes, mandating the highest standards of quality and performance.

When your Web sites are unavailable or perform poorly during peak hours, you lose customers, revenue, and potential repeat business.

CLEVER Web helps preserve your corporate image and protect your revenue stream by minimizing costly Web site outages, providing real-time performance awareness data and historical reports for capacity planning.

CLEVER Web
provides:

  • In-house active monitoring of your critical Internet/Intranet Web sites

  • End-to-End response time monitoring of multiple Web sites, in real time

  • Multi-page scripting, automatically simulating Web site transactions

  • Operability inside/outside the firewall

  • A page-by-page record of sequenced Web site operations

  • Advanced Historical Reporting to:

  • establish a baseline benchmark for Web site performance,

  • identify trouble spots for tuning, and

  • improve capacity planning.

Key Features of CLEVER Web®

  • Monitor combined Service Level performance of a Web transaction spanning multiple URLs

  • Monitor end-to-end response times, including wait time, for mission-critical Web sites, inside/outside the firewall

  • Interactively monitor Web page navigation and load times in real time

  • Visibly identify and highlight potential performance bottlenecks prior to customer awareness

  • Instantly provide customizable Service Level reports by hour, day, and/or week

  • Provide methodology for predictive testing of new Website access speed, flow, and functionality prior to online production rollout

  • Proactively establish Service Level Objectives for mission critical Web applications

  • Send threshold and availability alerts locally or to SNMP defined managers

  • Reassign monitoring intervals, thresholds, or URLs as conditions dictate

Highlights of CLEVER Web®

With iMonitor: Actively monitor end-to-end response times for mission critical Web sites in-house, in real time. Perform developmental testing of response times and availability prior to online posting. Establish Service Level Objectives for mission-critical Web site applications by monitoring internally. Monitor Web page and Web transaction navigation, and load and wait times, including variations. Operate inside/outside the firewall.

Use WebHealth to: Show a running graph of failed request rates and response times for the monitored URLs. Send threshold and availability alerts locally or to SNMP-defined managers, in real time. Identify potential performance bottlenecks prior to user visibility.

CLEVER Web Reports: Provide flexibility with real time and/or historical Service Level summary reports by hour, day, and/or week. Track changes in response times and failures over time.

Use iConfigure to: Reassign monitored URLs and pages, intervals, and thresholds with just a few keystrokes.

CLEVER Web v3.0 (July 2003) introduces these new features:

As an extension of Web page monitoring, CLEVER Web now offers the ability to monitor end-to-end Web transactions. By providing the ability to run a scripted multi-page request-and-response sequence of pages, the product emulates an interactive transaction.

Response time reporting has been expanded to include download time and wait time in addition to navigate time: this detailed breakdown of the page loading sequence provides for more detailed pinpointing of trouble spots.

CLEVER Web 3.0 provides the detailed performance and availability monitoring needed to meet Service Level Agreements and now also offers detailed Tracelog capabilities. This allows for detailed response time investigations and provides Web transaction Sequence of Execution information for a clear view of the entire page-loading sequence. Additional flexibility is provided through easily customizable historical reports, right at your fingertips.
